Hola! My name is Itzel Salazar, I was born and raised in Walla Walla. I have been a part of 21st Century since middle school! In high school, I worked as a 21st CCLC tutor at Pioneer, Garrison, Sharpstein, and Edison. I have enjoyed participating in all of the afterschool activities, experiencing amazing things like sending a balloon to space as a middle school student and teaching ballet Folklorico to elementary and middle school students. With all of the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout the years I am excited to create a caring, safe, fun, and loving environment for Green Park students.
GO PANTHERS! 🐾
MAKER MONDAY
Maker Monday is a mainstay each session and a student favorite. In this program, students get to express their creativity and use problem solving skills. Sometimes, Maker Monday projects are more arts-focused; other times, projects are STEM-based.
BLOXELS
Students explore the world of storytelling through video game creation in Bloxels. At the end of the session, students share their games and stories with the rest of the group.
READING BUDDIES
In this program, fourth and fifth grade program leaders read aloud to small groups of first, second, and third grade students. The leaders gain mentoring skills and confidence reading, while younger students strengthen their listening, comprehension, and language skills.
PASSPORT
Passport is a combination of social studies and arts & crafts. Each week, students learn about the culture, geography, and history of a different Latin American country and then create a craft based on what they learned.
